Re: [EPL] West Ham United 0-2 Manchester United
West Ham United 0-2 Manchester United - PLAYER RATINGS: David de Gea proves the difference at the London Stadium
* West Ham United 0-2 Manchester United: Ian Ladyman's match report * Slaven Bilic's Irons outfit played host to Jose Mourinho's Manchester United * Sofiane Feghouli was sent off in the 15th minute at the London Stadium, Monday * Juan Mata came off the bench to score after great work from Marcus Rashford * Zlatan Ibrahimovic (78mins) thumped home despite being in an offside position Manchester United beat West Ham United 2-0 at the London Stadium in a match which was marred by poor decision-making from the officials. Sofiane Feghouli was controversially sent off in the 15th minute of the Monday evening fixture before Juan Mata came off the bench to score, following great work from Marcus Rashford. The Red Devils' talismanic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic then thumped home in the 78th minute despite standing in an offside position. Here, Sportsmail runs the rule over the performances of both sets of players. MANCHESTER UNITED (4-3-3): De Gea; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Darmian; Herrera,Carrick, Pogba; Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic, Lingard. David de Gea 8 Great early save to tip Lanzini's low shot around the post and an even better one to flick the West Ham midfielder's later effort towards the top right corner wide of the woodwork. Stood up well to keep Antonio's one-on-one strike out. Spain international stopper David de Gea makes a fine save for Jose Mourinho's Red Devils Antonio Valencia 5 Missed virtually an open goal in the first-half, shooting at Randolph when he had more of the empty goal to aim at. Booked for jumping into Lanzini's back. Phil Jones 6 Made the most of Feghouli's challenge to get the West Ham man sent off. Booed for the rest of the match. Marcos Rojo 6 Solid first-half in the middle and moved to left back at the break as Mourinho went for a more attacking line-up. Matteo Darmian 6 (Juan Mata 46, 7 — on at half-time and timed his run into the box well to open the scoring.) Booked for a cynical foul on Antonio when West Ham had the chance to break. Subbed at half-time for tactical reasons. Spaniard Juan Mata came off the bench to score after great work from Marcus Rashford Ander Herrera 6 Left with a bloodied face at the end of the first-half following a clash. Acrobatic leaping volley kept out by Randolph late on. Michael Carrick 6.5 Brilliant passing. Barely misplaced one. The usual mature performance from Carrick who refuses to drop the standard of his play. Moved to centre half at the break and did just as well. Paul Pogba 6.5 So close with two low efforts bent towards either corner in the second-half, each from outside the area. Henrikh Mkhitaryan 6.5 (Chris Smalling 65, 6) United's best player by far in the first-half, but Mourinho made the decision to take him off midway through the second after they went ahead. Zlatan Ibrahimovic 6.5 Bad passes and skied shots in the first-half. Some decent link-up play in the second. Scored the second goal, but it shouldn't have been allowed as he was offside. Jesse Lingard 5.5 (Marcus Rashford 59, 7.5 — Brilliant work down the left to beat two West Ham players and set up Mata to score. Shot almost crept in.) Awful rebound miss from Valencia's equally as bad miss, hitting the post from almost point-blank range. Subs not used Anthony Martial, Ashley Young, Sergio Romero, Marouane Fellaini. Manager Jose Mourinho 8 His side had a man advantage but were not using it effectively in the first-half. His first two substitutes of the second combined to open the scoring and changed the game.
