Morgan Schneiderlin poised to seal £25m Manchester United switch as Arsenal pull out of running for Southampton midfielder

• Arsene Wenger has a genuine interest in Juventus star Arturo Vidal

Arsenal pulled out of the race for the Southampton midfielder.

The 25-year-old could be key for Louis van Gaal, with a holding midfielder a priority given United’s problems in that position when Michael Carrick was injured last season.

Negotiations may take time but unless there is a late inquiry from another club, the Frenchman looks set for Old Trafford.

Tottenham, Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain are also being kept updated on Schneiderlin's situation, but the former Strasbourg man is prioritising a move to United.

maaf kalau salah ya, cuma hanya berpikir sebenarnya apakah MU benar2 mengincar semua pemain itu apa hanya media sana saja sich?

kadang ane berpikir apa iya MU sepertinya rakus mau semua pemain? memang benar MU butuh pemain di beberapa posisi..tapi apa LvG segitu nafsunya mau beli atau incar semua pemain? harusnya kok tidak ya.

paling - paling media aja kali ya yang bikin panas bursa dan kita-kita penggemar ini. sementara pemain yang diincar benar-benar tidak sebanyak itu, ada kemungkinan begitu tidak???

Sergio Ramos has told Real Madrid that he wants to join Manchester United this summer.

United made an opening bid of £28.3million for the Spain international last week which was rejected by Madrid. However, after being informed of the offer, Ramos has made it clear to Madrid that he wants them to negotiate with United and reach a suitable agreement for his transfer to Old Trafford.

The development has shocked Madrid who expected the Ramos affair to end with a revised contract offer but they now realise they have underestimated his frustration.

Ramos has a buy-out clause of £142million but believes United's offer represents good value for a player of his age and considering he has two years left on contract.

Madrid will attempt to appease Ramos over his contract but his brother and agent Rene is understood to have intimated to the club hierarchy that the opportunity for that has passed.

Ramos wants the move to Old Trafford this summer and says United are the only club he wishes Madrid to negotiate with.

Madrid's next likely step is to demand United goalkeeper David de Gea as part of negotiations.

Ramos's stance though has given them a foothold of control in negotiations and one they hope to play out to their advantage.

The signing of such a Real Madrid talisman will be a major coup for United's executive vice chairman Ed Woodward as he looks to strengthen Louis Van Gaal's squad for their return to the Champions League next season.

They remain confident of signing Morgan Schneiderlin too from Southampton although a fee has yet to be agreed for the 24-year-old France international.

Woodward wants to assemble a squad that can compete with the likes of Madrid and still wants to add a striker, a right back and another goalkeeper should De Gea eventually go.

Also, defender Phil Jones signed his new contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2019.

England international Jones follows Chris Smalling who committed to a new three year deal earlier this year.

Jones, 23, had one year left on contract and said: 'This a great club to be part of and I cannot wait to start the new campaign.'

Manchester United make Everton defender Seamus Coleman their top right back target

Seamus Coleman has been placed at the top of Manchester United’s transfer target list to find a new right back.

Louis van Gaal is searching for a right back and is considering an offer for the the Everton full back.

United would be expected to pay at least £15million for Coleman, who only signed a five-year contract at the Merseyside club last year to take him up until 2019.

But senior Old Trafford officials confirmed their interest in the Republic of Ireland international and Van Gaal has money to spend.

After agreeing a deal to bring in Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven for £25m in May, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward declared: ‘We expect to be active again during the window.

‘The squad will be absolutely deep enough and ready to challenge on all fronts next year and that involves ins and outs in the summer.’

The club have the first £100m instalment from their £750m kit deal with adidas which has increased their spending power in the transfer market and Van Gaal will be backed again this summer, after spending heavily last year, to return United to their former glory and improve on their fourth-place finish last season.

Coleman is still only 26 years old and would be seen as a long-term investment by the club.

Any transfer would land Everton a sizeable profit on the £60,000 they paid Irish side Sligo Rovers in 2009 for the player.

He has since gone on to win 28 caps for the Republic of Ireland and become one of the most highly-rated full backs in the Premier League.
