Nah... klo Mou mau lebih bertahan dengan menambah CM jawabannya lebih baik Carrick dibanding Fellaini. Carrick jadi DM dan Herrera maju jadi lebih ke box to box midfielder. Buat bertahan bisa buat menyerang ya bisa.

Rekor Mata sejauh ini jadi starter 9x menang 7x imbang 1x kalah 1x. Juan Mata main dari cadangan atau nggak main 5x menang 1x imbang 1x kalah 3x. Andalan...

Luke Shaw di babak I mainnya ancur2an. Seperti yg aku bilang, dah kayak Evra vs Lennon. Tapi di babak II Shaw main lebih baik. Sepenglihatanku nggak ada crossing Navas yg lolos dr dia, beda dari babak I dimana crossing Navas berkali2 membahayakan gawang United. Akhirnya Navas geser ke sayap kiri dan Sterling dimasukkan oleh Pep. Level permainan Shaw blom kembali ke sebelum cedera sih tapi musti sabar, sih 20/21 tahun.

Di sisi lain Valencia main konsisten seperti biasa. Cepat dan lugas pas bertahan tapi seperti biasa juga crossingnya gitu2 aja. Hampir bisa dibilang tidak berbahaya sama sekali.

Di pertandingan ini United lebih beringas mainnya. Bahkan seorang Ibra berkali2 berlari mengejar bek City yg menguasai bola. Rekan2nya memarking satu2 pemain City agar City susah mengembangkan permainan passing mereka. Itungannya sukses sih tapi bisa jadi juga karena lini tengah City diisi Garcia dan Nolito. Pemain intinya nggak main.

Sayangnya nggak ada pemain muda diluar Rashford yang dibawa. Apakah Mou bener2 serius memandang ajang LC? Atau karena ketemu Pep? Sayang juga sih karena ini kesempatan mengasah pemain muda. Partai berikutnya vs West Ham. Jangan2 nggak ada pemain muda lagi yg dibawa.

Peran Carrick tadi malam keliatan nyata buat ngecover lini tengah sama belakang. Herrera juga lari kesana kemari menjemput ngoper bola. Duet Rashford Ibra lumayan mantep.

* Manchester United secured narrow 1-0 EFL Cup victory over rivals City
* Juan Mata opened the scoring for United with a fine second-half finish
* Ander Herrera starred but Paul Pogba endured another miserable night
* Zlatan Ibrahimovic also struggled for Jose Mourinho's side on Wednesday

Juan Mata scored the only goal of the game as Manchester United overcame bitter rivals Manchester City 1-0 in the EFL Cup fourth round on Wednesday.

The result enabled Jose Mourinho to exact some revenge over old foe Pep Guardiola at Old Trafford, following City's Premier League win back in September.

A lacklustre first half saw the teams go in goalless at the break, but Mata was on hand to finish Zlatan Ibrahimovic's cross in the second half, sending United through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

Here, Sportsmail's CHRIS WHEELER and MATT MALTBY rates the players at Old Trafford...

MANCHESTER UNITED (4-2-3-1)

David de Gea - 6
The Spanish shot-stopper had little to do in between the sticks for United, with City's attack failing to test him throughout the match. He's a calm presence at the back and dealt with with every ball delivered into his box; but was fortunate to see Kelechi Iheanacho fluff his lines in the early stages of the game.

Antonio Valencia - 6.5
The winger-turned-full-back is growing into his new role at Old Trafford and has improved the defensive side of his game under Mourinho. Was perhaps United's best player at the weekend and put in another consistent display on Wednesday. Was rarely troubled by the ineffective Leroy Sane and got forward as often as possible.

Marcos Rojo - 6
With Eric Bailly injured and Chris Smalling rested, Marcos Rojo came into the side to partner Daley Blind in defence. The Argentina international produced one of his better performances in a United shirt, playing the simple pass when needed and read the game well, too.

Daley Blind - 6.5
Endured a disastrous afternoon on Sunday at left back but was much better as a central defender for United against City. Isn't the tallest of centre backs but his reading of the game is excellent and he dealt well with City's pacey attack. The introduction of Aguero could have made a difference but Blind and Co stood firm.

Luke Shaw - 6
The left back returned to the starting line-up after missing out against Chelsea and was slightly off the pace on Wednesday. Was troubled by Navas, with the winger catching him out of position on various occasions. Did, however, pop up with a few decisive blocks and should have better matches once he returns to full fitness.

Michael Carrick - 6
Captaining United in the absence of Rooney, Carrick is a calming presence in this team and showed his class with a couple of trademark passes. Found Mata with a wonderful ball in the first-half and rarely put a foot wrong.

Ander Herrera - 7.5
The midfield maestro is beginning to show why United forked out for him two years ago and produced another impressive display in the middle of the park. Showed his strength to shrug off Fernando in the build-up to the hosts' winning goal.

Juan Mata - 7
Many expected Mata to be the first to leave Old Trafford following the appointment of Mourinho; but the Spaniard has become a crucial member of the first-team at Old Trafford. Was his typically lively self and capped off a fine performance by netting the winner in the second half.

Paul Pogba - 5.5
Has really struggled to settle since making his world-record move to United and endured yet another frustrating night. Missed a glorious chance to open the scoring when his shot was turned onto the post; and he was then booked late on for lunge on Otamendi. Needs to have more of an influence in these big matches.

Marcus Rashford - 7
One of United's best players in this EFL Cup victory, causing Maffeo all sorts of problems down the left wing. Whipped in a lovely ball to Ibrahimovic in the second half; with the Swede somehow failing to get on the end of it.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 5.5
After a bright start to his United career, the veteran striker went into this tie having scored just one goal in eight matches in all competitions. Cut a lonely figure up front, with City's defence comfortably dealing with the former PSG star. Failed to get on the end of Rashford's wonderful cross; and did little to show why Mourinho continues to play him in the lone striker role.

SUBSTITUTES

Morgan Schneiderlin 6 (on for Mata, 75)
Shored things up in midfield as United clung onto the victory.

Jesse Lingard 6 (on for Rashford, 82)
Ran the wing well and did what Mourinho would have asked him to do.

MANCHESTER CITY (4-4-2)

Willy Caballero - 6.5
Produced a great save to prevent Pogba from opening the scoring in the second-half, turning the ball onto his right-hand post. Couldn't do much about the goal, with City's defence leaving Mata unmarked to fire home the winner.

Pablo Maffeo - 6.5
Had a hard task in dealing with Rashford, who often runs defenders ragged with his direct play and blistering pace. Was caught out of position on various occasions and didn't get forward as often as he perhaps could have.

Nicolas Otamendi - 5.5
Is too often rash in the challenge and once again made a few mistakes to allow United a chance at goal. Did a relatively decent job in the first half but United had gaps to run into after defensive partner Kompany was replaced at half-time.

Vincent Kompany - 6.5
Playing just his fourth game of the season, the City captain was replaced at half-time by Kolarov and his absence was felt. Didn't let Ibrahimovic out of his pocket when he was on the pitch; another sign of his importance at City.

Gael Clichy - 6
Left out of the team who drew 1-1 with Southampton at the weekend, the Frenchman returned to the line-up but played a low-key role. Similarly to fellow full back Maffeo, didn't get forward enough for City when Sane needed support.

Jesus Navas - 7
Manchester City's best player on the night, Navas caused the returning Shaw all sorts of problems down the right wing. Sent in a couple of lovely balls into the box but City's ineffective front line weren't on the same wavelength.

Fernando - 6
Herrera got the better of the Brazilian midfielder in the build-up to Mata's goal, using his strength to send him on his backside. Playing in his usual defensive midfield role, he did the simple things well but should have been more aware of his opponent's presence prior to the winning goal.

Aleix Garcia - 6.5
Playing just his second game of the season under Pep Guardiola, Garcia was a lively figure for Manchester City. Won City a few early free-kicks and his movement caused United's defence a few problems; but endured a quiet second period.

Nolito - 6
Returned to the line-up against United but endured yet another quiet evening. Isn't the goalscorer Aguero is, and didn't offer any attacking threat in this EFL Cup fourth-round clash.

Leroy Sane - 5
Given a role on the left flank, Sane endured a night to forget at Old Trafford. Showed his ability in the weekend's draw with Southampton but didn't see enough of the ball to test United's defence on Wednesday. Was eventually replaced by Sterling.

Kelechi Iheanacho - 5
Proved to be City's hero at the weekend by popping up with the equaliser against Southampton but was ineffective against United. Missed a glorious chance to break the deadlock in the early stages, fluffing his lines when he should have at least tested De Gea.

SUBSTITUTES

Kolarov 6 (on for Kompany 45)
Came on at half-time to partner Otamendi but City weren't the same following this substitution. Fluffed his lines with a couple of long-range strikes.

Sterling 6.5 (on for Sane, 63)
Sterling added something to City's attack after coming on for Sane, using his pace down the left flank to test Valencia. Was lively but didn't do enough on the ball.

Aguero 5 (on for Nolito, 71)
Looks off the pace, adding to suggestions that he is nursing an injury. Didn't have the desired impact; has now gone six games without scoring for City.

Balik lagi karna faktor U sih IMHO

Kalo dimaenin terus2an kayaknya juga cepet abis. Harusnya sih Schneiderlin yang bisa step up di posisi itu. Tapi ya entah mungkin kurang cocok ama Mourinho

Mungkin pemain2 academy bakal dikasih kesempatan di EPL,,bukan di Piala Liga or Piala FA. Mungkin bayang2 UNTITLED udah mulai menghantui Mou pasca kekalahan telak dari Chelsea. Memainkan pemain muda di babak knock out pilihan yg sgt beresiko.
Semoga dgn cederanya Bailly n labilnya Smalling bs membuka kesempatan utk Axel Tuanzebe duet sm Blind di EPL.
